The Royal Scholars
The Royal Scholars is a program designed to provide an opportunity for outstanding
college students to advocate the food and fiber industry, leadership and the American
Royal. Scholars applicants will be selected as members of the Royal Scholars. The Royal
Scholar will travel to Kansas City, Missouri, on B13-14, and October 1-4 or October 21-24,
2010 for training and participation in the 111th American Royal, media events, civic
organization meetings, school visits, and a host of other activities.
In recognition of the outstanding achievements of the Royal Scholars and their continuing
advocacy of the food and fiber industry, the American Royal Association will award a
$2,500 scholarship to each student selected to be a member of the Royal Scholars.
General Eligibility Criteria
Persons are eligible to apply for membership in the Royal Scholars program if they:
· Are at least 18 years of age and not older than 25 years of age as of January 1, 2010
· Achieve a cumulative college grade point average equivalent to 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
· Are pursuing a four-year college or post graduate degree
· Must have completed at least 32 credit hours from an accredited school and enrolled in the fall 2010 term working toward a Bachelor’s or higher degree
· Are able to travel to Kansas City for one weekend on August 13-14, and October 1-4 or
· October 21-24, 2010 (all travel, meals and lodging while in Kansas City are provided)
· Sign this application and, if under 21 years of age, have a parent or guardian sign this application
Consideration will also be given to the following:
· Whether the candidate is pursuing a degree in agriculture-related or a field related to the food and fiber industry

OFA/Casey Scholarship
OFA/Casey Scholarship Online applications are now being accepted thru March 31, 2010 for the OFA/Casey Scholarship. This is a great opportunity and Missouri youth have benefited from this in previous years.

Eligible Youth:
Have been in foster care for one consecutive year at the time of their 18th birthday OR have been adopted or taken into legal guardianship out of foster care or upon the death of their parents after their 16th birthday OR have lost both parents to death before the age of 18 and not been subsequently adopted or taken into legal guardianship.
2. Be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited post-secondary program at the undergraduate level (university, college, community college or vocational/technical institute.)
3. Be under the age of 25 on March 31, 2010.
4. Have been in foster care or orphaned while living in the United States. U.S. citizenship is not required.
